Rearranging your furniture periodically changes the traffic patterns to distribute wear more evenly.

If you rearrange your furniture, you may see deep indentations in the carpet where the furniture legs were resting. Spray a small amount of water on the affected area and use a pile grooming brush (available from your carpet retailer) to lift the crushed pile.

If opting for a professional cleaning service, hot water extraction cleaning is the preferred method as it leaves the least amount of detergent residue.

Household chemicals, medications and cosmetics can permanently stain or remove colour from your carpet. These chemicals often are the culprits of "mystery stains" because they may not discolour the carpet for several days or weeks. The best prevention is to keep household chemicals away from your carpet. And Britex clean regularly (every 3-6 months.)
